Education is all about options and PLCC is a great option! Now is the time to start planning your future. You have many choices to explore and decisions to make that are right for you and your future.
At PLCC, Your Future is Our Focus! Sitting in desks in not the defining atmosphere at Portage Lakes Career Center. Half the day might be spent in the “normal” classroom, but the other half is spent in high-tech labs participating in projects that matter. From welding a dirt bike, to cooking up real meals, our students run businesses, design, repair, program and are fully engaged in 21st Century Learning.
Over the next few months, Sophomore’s from PLCC’s four partner schools will have several opportunities to Focus On Their Future. Representatives and students from PLCC will meet with every 10th grader from the four partner districts to discuss the benefits of Career & Technical education, followed by Sophomore Visitation Days where the students will visit PLCC and have a focused visit in three programs of their choice. In February, parents are invited to bring their student back for a Career Exploration Open House. Career Tech Tuesdays are an additional way a student can see first-hand what a program is like by shadowing for half of a day.

Ohio has a rich history in manufacturing. We believe advanced manufacturing, involving the use of robotics, computer-aided machinery, and technology to improve products and processes will be a significant part of our future. A new RAMTEC Training Lab will allow high school students and adult students the opportunity to train on simulators and will provide real life experience practicing on industrial robots – preparing them to be the best of the best out in the field.
