November 9 Announcements


Jostens will be at PLCC this morning to meet with all home school seniors. We will call you to the cafeteria with a n announcement. Jostens will return to PLCC on November 15 for order placement. You must have a cap and gown to participate in your school’s graduation ceremony in the Spring.

All students should continually check your home school and PLCC guidance office for college visit and scholarship information.

Yearbooks are on sale now! Only $10.00 until January 1 and then the price increases to $15.00 each. Deadline to order is March 1, 2018.

On Tuesday, November 28 a representative from the University of Akron will give a presentation in the lower lecture room to interested full day PLCC juniors.  Interested full day juniors wishing to attend should sign up in the PLCC Student Services Office by the end of the day on Monday, November 20. Passes will be issued.

The first College Credit Plus informational meeting tonight, Thursday, November 9th at 6:30 PM in Room 127. If you are interested in participating in CCP next school year, it is mandatory that the student and a parent attend one informational meeting before applying for the program.

SENIORS, if you have not scheduled your senior head shot yet, Prestige will be at GHS on Tuesday November 14th from 7:30 am – 11:30 am to take them. Please make sure to follow the school dress code. Some appointments may still be available at the studio, call 330-497-0475 for information.

PTA Reflections Cultural Arts Program  This year’s theme is: “Within Reach”

WHAT IS REFLECTIONS? It’s the PTAs annual cultural arts program. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit original works of art around the year’s theme in any of the six areas: literature, visual arts, photography, dance choreography, film production and music composition.

Student entry forms, rules, and project turn-in- date (to be held in December) will be available soon. In the meantime if you like, you can visit the Ohio PTA website at for detailed rules by art category found in the Reflections Handbook.

There will be a mandatory Wrestling meeting after school in the wrestling room today, Thursday the 9th at 2:35 p.m. for anyone interested in wrestling this year.

Any Athlete that wants to have a signing there will be one on Wednesday, November 15th 2017. Please go to and go to forms and look for athletic signing. Time is running out, the next signing will be in February.


There will be Bible Study every Friday until 3:00 pm in Mr. Johnston’s room 213.  

This is a reminder for all NHS Members that Thursday, Nov.9th is induction night.  Arrive at the high school at 6:00 p.m. for a walk-through before the ceremony at 7:00.  Senior members, bring a dessert! Attention all NHS Members:  Be at the high school at 7:00 a.m. on Friday for breakfast before scholastic day.  Senior members, make sure to bring a breakfast item.  If you forgot what you signed up for, check the list in Mr. Cantrell’s room.

Anyone interested in Ski Club AND wanting your ski passes BEFORE Christmas Break–you need to register and pay online BY MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20 at MIDNIGHT. You will still be able to join after this date, but you will not have your passes until the first day of club.
