Information regarding the Bruce Buchholzer scholarship is now available in Student Services. Four-$1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded to Summit County senior student/athletes this year. See Mrs. Woods for details.
The Cavaliers and Huntington Bank will award ten (10) Northeast Ohio high school seniors with a $2,000.00 college scholarship. Graduating seniors must submit a 500 word essay, perform a high level of service in their communities, provide a high school transcript, ACT and/or SAT scores and one letter of recommendation. Applications for the Better Business Bureau Laws of Life essay contest are now available in Student Services.
Congressman Jim Renacci will be available to speak about appointment to a military academy on Saturday, April 14. For more information, see Mrs. Woods in Student Services.
PLCC yearbooks are on sale for $15.00 each. The deadline to order is March 1, 2018. Order forms are available in the main office.
In the event that your home school is closed and PLCC is still in session, the a.m. buses will run from your home school to PLCC and the p.m. bus from PLCC back to your home school. The buses will not be running in your neighborhood. You are required to attend classes at PLCC even if your home school is closed. If you do not attend PLCC for transportation issues, this is considered an unexcused absence.
Three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded by the Junior Women’s Civic Club to female seniors based on volunteer service, academics and financial need. See Ms. Woods in Student Services for more information.
Ohio ACTE currently has 3 opportunities for student recognition, scholarship and for showcasing their talent!
The Darrell Parks Scholarship is a $1,000 one-time scholarship for any student enrolled in an Ohio Career and Technical Program to be used toward tuition/fees to the recipient’s program of higher education.Deadline to apply is March 1.
Ohio ACTE is looking for student designed submissions for the front cover of the 2018 Connections to Education Conference program.

Seniors, if you are interested in having your baby photos in the yearbook, please send them to GHS as soon as possible.
Any athlete interested in signing, our next signing is February 7th Division 1 & II only. Go to www.greenbulldogathletics.com and register on line. Last signing for all Divisions will be in May.
Mark your calendars, Winter Formal is Saturday, February 17. The dance is from 8pm-11pm at the GHS auxiliary gym. Tickets will be $20 each and will be on sale the week before the dance (February 12-16) in the GHS library during and after school. Guest Forms are available in the main office.
The next GHS blood drive is February 2. You cannot miss class at PLCC to donate.

Green High School will co-host a college admissions & ACT preparation seminar on Saturday, February 3rd, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, at Jackson High School.
MANCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL
There will be Bible Study every Friday until 3:00 pm in Mr. Johnston’s room 213.
If anyone has pictures they want in this year’s yearbook, please put them on a flash drive and give to Mr. Schaadt at MHS.
The Winter Lock-In will be Saturday, February 10 through early morning February 11. The cost is $10.00. You will have access to a video gaming room, the gym with various activities, the cafeteria with board games and card games along with all you can eat pizza. There will be live entertainment, a D.J. and a glow party in the middle of the night. Arrive anytime between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. The Lock-In will end around 5:30 a.m. the morning of Feb. 11. Bring your sleeping bag if you would like to crash in the “chill out” room. Breakfast will be provided in the morning. Tickets will go on sale on February 5.
The MHS Student Council will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, February 8th. You may not miss class at PLCC
SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
This year’s Sweetheart Dance will be held on Saturday, February 3 from 7-10 pm. Tickets are $10 and will be on sale from January 25 through February 2. If you’re bringing a guest from a different school please see Mrs. Sayers in the main office for a guest form. All guest forms must be turned in by January 29 and must be turned in prior to your ticket purchase.
The Spartan Chess Club will be meeting each Wednesday after school from 2:35-3:35 in Room 317 for spirited rounds of chess play and theory.
NHS is having a coat drive now through Valentine’s Day. Your donations of gently used coats and jackets are being collected in the SHS student services office.
Your SHS Senior Dues must be paid in the SHS office as soon as possible. Senior dues are $35 this year and can not be waived through PLCC. Please pay these immediately if you have not done so already. To participate in the Graduation Ceremony and receive your diploma your SHS senior dues must be paid!!
For all those interested in fashion merchandising: BGSU is hosting a Presidents’ Day Open House on February 19, 9am-3pm in our newly renovated Fashion Lab on the BGSU campus.
Kent State University is hosting “Explore Kent Chemistry Day” on February 10 from 10:00-2:00.
Attention girls 16 and older in need of a prom dress. Altrusa International is holding their 18th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway Princess Night. It will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10-2 at Family of Faith United Methodist Church. Stop in the SHS guidance office for more information.
