February 5 Announcements

February 5, 2018 ~  Career Exploration Day – Students do not report to PLCC today or tomorrow (Feb. 6) ~ Students are to be completing alternate assignment.

PORTAGE LAKES CAREER CENTER

All students should continually check your home school and PLCC guidance office for college visit and scholarship information. New scholarships are offered daily.

PLCC yearbooks are on sale for $15.00 each. The deadline to order is March 1, 2018. Order forms are available in the main office.

In the event that your home school is closed and PLCC is still in session, the buses will run from your home school to PLCC and from PLCC back to your home school. The buses will not be running in your neighborhood. You are required to attend classes at PLCC even if your home school is closed. If you do not attend PLCC for transportation issues, this is considered an unexcused absence.

GREEN HIGH SCHOOL

Any athlete interested in signing, our next signing is February 7th Division 1 & II only. Go to www.greenbulldogathletics.com and register on line. Last signing for all Divisions will be in May.

Mark your calendars, Winter Formal is Saturday, February 17. The dance is from 8pm-11pm at the GHS auxiliary gym. Tickets will be $20 each and will be on sale the week before the dance (February 12-16) in the GHS library during and after school. Guest Forms are available in the main office.

Seniors: Stop in the GHS office to pick up an order form for your senior class panoramic photo.  

Any student wishing to audition for next year’s Musical Theatre class should plan on attending an orientation meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 7th immediately after school in the Choir Room. 

SENIORS: The Yearbook Staff still needs your baby photos for the yearbook, turn them in at GHS ASAP!  

MANCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL

The Winter Lock-In will be Saturday, February 10 through early morning February 11.  The cost is $10.00. You will have access to a video gaming room, the gym with various activities, the cafeteria with board games and card games along with all you can eat pizza.  There will be live entertainment, a D.J. and a glow party in the middle of the night.  Arrive anytime between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.  The Lock-In will end around 5:30 a.m. the morning of Feb. 11.  Bring your sleeping bag if you would like to crash in the “chill out” room.  Breakfast will be provided in the morning.  Tickets will go on sale on February 5.

The MHS Student Council will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, February 8th.  You may not miss class at PLCC to donate.

Key Club will be making lunches again on Wednesday, February 7th immediately after school.  Please sign-up with Mr. Johnson…volunteers are needed!!!

The Nolley Math and Reading Club is looking for volunteers.  Volunteers are needed from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from February 13 to March 21.  All those interested in helping should sign-up in Mr. Cantrell’s room at MHS.

SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL

NHS is having a coat drive now through Valentine’s Day. Your donations of gently used coats and jackets are being collected in the SHS student services office.

Your SHS Senior Dues must be paid in the SHS office as soon as possible. Senior dues are $35 this year and are not waivable through PLCC. Please pay these immediately if you have not done so already.  To participate in the Graduation Ceremony and receive your diploma, your SHS senior dues must be paid!!

Attention girls 16 and older in need of a prom dress. Altrusa International is holding their 18th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway Princess Night. It will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10-2 at Family of Faith United Methodist Church. Stop in the SHS guidance office for more information.

THE SHS BOWLING TEAM IS CURRENTLY HELPING SUPPORT THE COUNTRY OF HAITI BY COLLECTING USED ATHLETIC SHOES. THE SHOES WILL BE WASHED AND GIVEN NEW SHOELACES. WE ARE

ASKING ANYONE WHO MIGHT HAVE A PAIR OF RUNNING SHOES, BASKETBALL OR ANY TYPE OF ATHLETIC SHOE THAT THEY ARE NO LONGER USING TO PLEASE BRING THEM TO MR. GRAVES’ CLASSROOM, ROOM 416. THESE SHOES WILL THEN BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN IN NEED!
