Senior Awards Ceremony – 7:00 p.m. / Queen of Heaven Social Hall – Students to be in their assigned line-up area at 6:30 p.m.  This ceremony is for all seniors.  Career passports will be issued to all seniors who pass their program/lab classes.

Parent/Student Information

Winter Break for PLCC high school students is December 21, 2015 through January 3, 2016.

There will be no school Monday, January 18, 2016 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A friendly reminder that the ProgressBook Suite will be going down for scheduled maintenance starting at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22 and will be available by the end of day on Monday, December 28th. This will include ParentAccess.  Thank you.

October Announcements:

The Jostens representative will be at PLCC on Wednesday, October 21 at 8:00 a.m. for a senior meeting for all full day seniors from CHS, GHS, MHS and SHS.  He will return on Wednesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 11 to place your graduation item orders.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Thursday, October 15 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.mPlease call 330-896-8200 to schedule a conference.

There is no school on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16.

PLCC Junior progress book information has been mailed home.  PLCC Senior progress book information is the same as last year.

Coventry High School:

Sept 17 –  CVCA will host a free Christian Fair from 6:30-8:30.

Portage Lakes Library will host a college planning workshop on Monday, October 5 at 6pm. Registration is required.

Green High School:

Attention any boy or girl interested in bowling this year.    Cost is $5 for three games – Wednesdays. All boy bowlers that were on the State Qualifying team, please see coach Hanson ASAP.  

Homecoming is Saturday, September 19. Please visit the GHS homepage today and find the link to nominate your classmates for this year’s homecoming court. You must use your GHS login and password so make sure you know those before hitting the link. Nominations close today after school.  Homecoming guest forms are available at GHS.

Attention all students interested in joining the GHS Swimming and Diving team this winter…..there will be an informational meeting after school Thursday, September 10th from 2:50pm-3:10pm in the GHS commons.

ACT College Entrance Test Prep Classes are being offered to help students achieve their highest scores on the October 24th test. Visit ABrightPromise.org website to find out further details and to register for classes. Registration is due by Friday, September 18.

Don’t’ forget to order your “Fear the Bite” t-shirts. Deadline is September 11. Order forms are available in the GHS main and athletic offices .

The “Do Something Club” will meet today right after school in Mr. DeVitis’ Room 105.   The club focuses on giving back to the community, recycling, clothing, book and other donation drives throughout the school year. Check it out next Tuesday after school in room 105.

Kick 4 The Cure is Saturday, Sept. 12.   Kick 4 The Cure T-shirts are on sale in the Paw Stop for $10 through Friday, of next week. Get yours today!

The Business Education Class has mesh string bags available for sale. The bags are $5 each. You can buy your mesh bag in Room 302 before school and in Room 410 during 3rd, 4th and 5th periods.

On Tuesday, September 29th from 8 AM to 1:30 PM there will be a Blood Drive in the Auditorium. Remember to eat a healthy breakfast and bring your ID.

If you have any pictures you would like featured in the yearbook, go to the website hjeshare.com and type in the password springfieldyearbook (all one word). Pictures from sports, clubs, events, etc. are needed.

Springfield High School:  Attention students: Please make sure that you review the dress code policy in the Student Handbook. Some rules have remained the same and some have been added.

  • ONLY water bottles are allowed at school.
  • Cups brought from home or from stores will be confiscated.
  • No Monster drinks are to be on school premises.
  • There are to be NO holes in jeans. A hole constitutes visible skin.
  • Tops need to cover cleavage and stomach area and also cannot have open arms past the armpit.
  • Students getting off the bus are not permitted to go to Get Go/or local stores.
  • Book bags and large purses are not permitted during the school day.

PORTAGE LAKES CAREER CENTER – DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

8/24/15

Welcome ! Just a reminder the buses do not run in your neighborhood if your home school district is closed. The buses will run from your home school to PLCC and back. Once your home school is in session, your bus will run as scheduled into your neighborhood.

All school forms are due no later than Friday, August 28! All forms must be turned in for lab participation.

School fees can be paid by cash, check or charge in the PLCC Attendance/Treasurer’s Office.

ANNOUNCEMENTS 8/13/15

New Student/Parent Orientation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

Student schedules and procedures will be reviewed and the instructional staff will be on hand to meet with new students/parents.  Parking passes may be purchased ($10.00) and class fees may be paid at this time.

Returning PLCC students for the second year may begin picking up their schedules on Friday, August 21, 2015.

The first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2015.  The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. and concludes at 2:07 p.m.  Each student is scheduled for a 30 minute CLOSED lunch period from 10:41 a.m. – 11:11 a.m.  Juniors attending half day will be dismissed at 10:20 a.m. each day.  Seniors attending half day must be seated in their labs no later than 11:20 a.m.
