Acme Fresh Market is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Meat Apprentice.

This is a fulltime, union position with full benefits. The purpose of the 2 year apprenticeship program is to create qualified journeyman meat cutters. This program will prepare candidates for the position of journeyman meat cutter and provide an opportunity for advancement into the first cutter and meat manager positions.

Job Description: An apprentice meat cutter will train in an Acme Fresh Market Meat Department with qualified journeyman meat cutters, first cutters, and meat managers.

Meat associates strive to Create Highly Satisfied Customers in our meat departments. Duties include: receive, process, cut, trim, scrape, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price and label meat and meat products according to company standards. Maintain proper case and display conditions, to include: cleaning, stocking, straightening, rotation and shrinking product. Operate saws, knifes, grinders, and wrappers (additional equipment as required). Must dress according to company policy and maintain a neat, clean appearance at all times. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Applicants must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to any Acme location. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to adhere to all food safety regulations and pass a food safety certification course. Excellent attendance is required for all positions at Acme Fresh Market.
