The Clinic Receptionist & Community Health Worker is an integral member of the OPEN M Free
Medical Clinic. Our team serves uninsured and underserved individuals in Summit County and
surrounding counties. We are passionate about making a difference through providing quality
care for our patients.
The mission of OPEN M, a Christian ministry, is to provide pathways out of poverty for all by
feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, and strengthening the community. Our vision is to be a
community leader in breaking the cycle of poverty and transforming lives, one person and one
family at a time. Our core programs include the Free Medical Clinic, food programs, and CWC, a
holistic employment service.

Job Purpose
To create a friendly and welcoming presence for patients as they navigate scheduling and
enrollment.
Duties and Responsibilities
 Greet patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner
 Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
 Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients
 Answer phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the
caller’s needs yourself
 Check voicemail messages and return calls in a timely manner
 Provide patients with intake and new patient forms
 Enroll new patients
 Assist staff and volunteers in nursing functions, such as lab, intake, and rooming.
 Other duties as needed
Qualifications & Experience
 High school graduation or GED
 LPN license
 Prior medical experience preferred
 Must be energetic and positive, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and
customer service
 Must have excellent organizational skills.
 Able to communicate effectively with diverse community members, from all walks of
life.
 Demonstrated capacity for situational awareness; able to “read” situations and
individuals and adapt approach accordingly.
 Able to maintain confidential information; demonstrated discretion.
 Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
 Able to manage time, to be on time and to meet deadlines.
 Able to work without supervision, but also without hesitating to seek advice and help.
Willing and able to listen and receive advice when given.
 Self-reliant in administrative functioning, i.e. data entry

Job Type
Part-time, 25 hours per week, must be available for all morning and evening clinics
Compensation and Benefits
$15.25/hour
