Many of our students apply for financial aid to complete full-time programs. Financial Aid is available through a variety of sources for qualified individuals enrolled in 600+ hour programs.
* The Part-Time Practical Nursing program is also eligible for Financial Aid due to the clock hour requirement of this option.
Alumni of PLCC’s four partner districts as well as Veterans and immediate family members of PLCC employees are eligible to receive one $1,000 discount off any full-time program enrollment or one $250 discount toward part-time program enrollment.
Partner Districts: Coventry | Manchester | Springfield | Green

PLCC Courses with fewer than 600 hours are generally not eligible for Federal Pell Grants or Student Loans. Here are some other financial aid options for part-time courses:
Cost of attendance IS NOT the tuition cost. Cost of attendance often includes additional factors like potential room and board, transportation costs, and personal expenses beyond tuition and are dependent on each individual. Please refer to the Adult Education Catalog or the program pages for accurate, all-inclusive tuition costs.
Recipients of the Federal Direct Student Loans are required by federal regulations to complete entrance and exit loan-counseling sessions. Entrance counseling sessions must be completed prior to the student receiving the loan proceeds. Exit counseling sessions must be completed at the time of graduation or when a student leaves school.
Portage Lakes Career Center’s financial aid professionals will ensure that:
1. No action will be taken by financial aid staff that is for his/her personal benefit or could be perceived to be a conflict of interest.

2. Information provided by the Financial Aid Office is accurate, unbiased, and does not reflect preference arising from actual or potential personal gain.
3. Institutional financial aid offers and/or other institutionally provided materials shall include the following:
a. A breakdown of individual components of the institution’s cost of attendance, designating all potential billable charges.
b. Clear identification of each offer, indicating type of aid, i.e. gift aid (grant, scholarship), work, or loan (requires repayment).
4. Financial aid professionals will disclose to their institution any involvement, interest in, or potential conflict of interest with any entity with which the institution has a business relationship.
