It’s a great time to pursue a dental assistant certification. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and its sponsored site, Projections Central, estimates dental assisting jobs in Ohio will increase 6-7% between 2020 to 2030, outpacing the average for all occupations. This anticipated growth signals a strong demand for dental assistants, opening up numerous job opportunities across the state.
At PLCC, our dental assisting program provides a clear pathway to a rewarding and dynamic career in dental healthcare. Our program will prepare you to take the exams for:
PLCC, a modern, accredited career-tech facility located in Uniontown, Ohio, offers a dynamic dental assistant program with convenient evening hours. You’ll study foundational knowledge in dentistry, including oral health and the importance of nutrition, and then progress to specialized skills in infection control, safety, and patient care. Our curriculum covers essential topics such as head and neck anatomy, dental charting, radiology, patient psychology, and advanced chairside assistance techniques.
Our dental assistant school also offers vital training in practice management and the use of computer technology in dental settings, ensuring you’re well-equipped to handle the administrative aspects of dental practice. You will become familiar with laboratory materials and develop professional competencies that prepare you for various roles in the dental field—from clinical assistant to practice manager in diverse environments like dental offices and public health facilities.
At PLCC, there are no hidden fees in your tuition. Everything you need to learn dental assisting is included:
American Medical Technologists (AMT) – Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
Ohio State Dental Board – Dental Assistant Radiographer’s Certificate
CPR Certification
Students looking to enroll in the above-listed program must submit an official high school or GED transcript to be reviewed. Team members will grant student placement only after evaluating the transcript and determining that it meets all criteria for admission.
