CULINARY & HOSPITALITY

Are you passionate about food and creating a memorable dining experience for others?  Are you a terrific cook who would like to take your skills to the next level?  Have you dreamed of owning your own restaurant someday?  Portage Lakes Career Center’s Culinary and Hospitality program is a quick but thorough guide to make you into the chef you’d like to be.

In this 300-hour program, you will train in a modern, equipped culinary institute environment and learn valuable industry skills that employers are looking for including a focus on food fundamentals, contemporary and international cuisine, and menu planning. In addition, our chef will instruct on other industry essentials like purchasing and costing, dining and catering operations, and supervisory management techniques.  This course also includes ServSafe Certifications and the opportunity to experience all aspects of operating and managing our school restaurant, The Neon Lime, which features freshly prepared, delicious cuisine.

Admissions Policy Statement

Students looking to enroll in the above-listed program must submit an official high school or GED transcript to be reviewed. Team members will grant student placement only after evaluating the transcript and determining that it meets all criteria for admission.
