At PLCC, a not-for-profit Ohio Career-Technical School located in Uniontown, we offer an all-inclusive tuition of $16,995, which is at least $2,000 less than the average cost of tuition, fees, and supplies at for-profit beauty schools across the United States.

How many hours of cosmetology training are required in Ohio?

Students must successfully complete 1,500 hours of training in Ohio to be eligible to take the licensure exam from the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board, through which PLCC’s cosmetology training school is accredited.

Can PLCC help me get cosmetology internships?

Real-world experience is very important for cosmetology students. We make every effort to help students who want a cosmetology internship find one that meets their needs and aligns with their interests.

Can I get scholarships or financial aid to attend PLCC’s cosmetology training center?

Yes. In addition to tuition payment plans, PLCC is an approved institution for the following types of financial aid

  • Federal PELL Grants 
  • Federal Direct Loans 
  • Veterans Administration Education Benefits 
  • Workforce Innovation Opportunity Investment Act (WIOA) 
  • Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR) 
  • Other aid, including a one-time $1,000 scholarship for alumni of PLCC’s four partner districts, as well as veterans and immediate family members of PLCC employees
