Fron Decision to Direction: PLCC Adult Education Student Spotlight
February Spotlight : Esthetics Student – Michaela Church
For Michaela Church, family always comes first. As a full-time mom and wife, returning to school took careful thought—and a lot of heart. She had been drawn to the Esthetics program at PLCC for some time, but fitting it into a busy life wasn’t easy. After open conversations at home and encouragement from a friend who loved her own experience at PLCC, Michaela decided to take the leap this fall.
The evening schedule—5 to 9 p.m., four days a week—fits perfectly. More importantly, the hands-on learning made all the difference. Michaela says traditional classroom learning has been a challenge in the past, but learning by doing helped everything click quickly and confidently.
Of all the jobs she’s had, Michaela knows becoming an esthetician is the one that truly fulfills her. While supporting her family remains priority number one, esthetics is clearly part of her future. She’s already committed to continuing her journey at PLCC by enrolling in the Nail Tech program next.
Her advice to others considering PLCC? “Go for it. Be driven. Be committed. Follow your heart.”
Michaela is doing just that—and her future is shining bright.
