Fron Decision to Direction: PLCC Adult Education Student Spotlight
March Spotlight : Phlebotomy Student – Kayla Gaspar
Kayla Gaspar’s journey started with something simple—frequent trips to get her blood drawn. Instead of fear, it sparked curiosity. That curiosity turned into a clear path forward.
After hearing positive experiences from friends, Kayla chose PLCC to begin her journey in Phlebotomy. She’s building a strong foundation today to reach her long-term goal of becoming a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). She plans on using her knowledge and employment in the field of Phlebotomy as the first step in reaching her goal.
What does she like most about the experience? The hands-on learning.
By just the second day of class, Kayla was already performing a blood draw. Nerve-wracking? Absolutely. But with the support and encouragement of her instructor, she pushed through, was successful, and hasn’t looked back since.
Next up, Kayla will begin her externship this April at Aultman Hospital, gaining real-world experience in a clinical setting. After completing the program, she plans to continue her education this fall while working part-time in the field.
Kayla’s story is a powerful reminder: when learning is hands-on and purpose-driven, confidence grows quickly—and doors open.
Her future is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see where it leads.
