Plumbing & Pipefitting

Find the perfect fit for your skills!

Plumbers and Pipefitters are both highly trained professionals able to work in residential, commercial, and industrial locations.

The Difference Between a Plumber and a Pipefitter

Plumbers install and repair water, drainage, gas, and other piping systems in homes, businesses, and factories. Plumbers install plumbing fixtures such as bathtubs or toilets and appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters. Plumbers also maintain septic systems.

Pipefitters, sometimes called fitters, install and maintain pipes that carry chemicals, acids, and gases. The pipes are used mostly in manufacturing, commercial, and industrial settings. Fitters install and repair pipe systems in power plants as well as heating and cooling systems in large office buildings. Some pipe-fitters go on to specialize as gas-fitters, sprinkler fitters, or steamfitters.

On The Job Training

During the senior year, students who have met the requirements and have received a recommendation by their program instructor, have the opportunity to go on School-to-Work Job Placement.  We work with our students and local employers to place them in a job that is related to their program of study, giving them real-life experience while simultaneously earning school credit.
