Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated, self-driven Saw Operator/Material Handler to join our 2nd shift team. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Position Summary
The Saw Operator/Material Handler is responsible for safely operating band saw equipment and handling steel materials to support daily warehouse production. This role involves cutting materials to specification, moving inventory throughout the warehouse, and assisting with general production activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment.
Responsibilities
Operate band saw equipment to cut steel materials according to customer order specifications
Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other shop tools
Load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse
Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment
Inspect materials and completed cuts for accuracy and quality
Maintain basic production and inventory records
Identify and report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns
Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements
Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support production
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
1–3+ years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred
Ability to read measurements and follow work instructions accurately
Ability to operate trade tools, tape measures, and shop equipment
Strong attention to safety and detail
Ability to work well with supervisors and team members
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Experience
Experience operating band saw equipment or similar cutting machinery
Experience working in a steel service center or manufacturing environment
Forklift or overhead crane operation experience
OSHA safety training or industrial safety knowledge
Schedule
Full-time position, M-F 6:00am – 2:30pm
Standard weekday schedule with overtime potential based on production needs
