Entry Level Manual Machinist

Full-Time

DESCRIPTION

The entry level manual machinist will work closely with our experienced machinists to produce parts for the repair process.  The entry level machinist will be expected to have basic machining tools.

 

APO will help in acquiring needed tools.

 

Duties to include:

-Use of fine measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, scales, etc.)

-Able to perform basic set ups on engine lathes and Bridgeport mills

-Good functional math skills (geometry, trigonometry)

-Basic understanding of feeds and speeds with given material

-Basic understanding of tooling used for given material

-Basic understanding of machining operations (turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading)

-Basic understanding of surface finishes

 

Qualifications

-High School Diploma preferred

-Able to work on feet 8 hours a day

-Able to lift 50 pounds safely

-Able to operate tow motor and overhead crane

-Basic understanding of shop safety and use of PPE

-Basic computer skills (use of tablets, email,

-Able to work with a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines

-A want to learn and grow

**APO to provide safety training relevant to position and duties**

**APO to provide tow motor training as required by OSHA**
