Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

We are seeking a positive and reliable candidate able to join a team that takes pride in building high-quality, industry leading packaging systems for some of the largest food, beverage, personal care, and pharmaceutical brands in the world! Mechanical Assembler Apprenticeship daily tasks will include:

Pneumatic Scale Angelus is looking to develop skilled labor and provide step progression advancement opportunities through our Field Service and Assembly Apprenticeship program within its two manufacturing sites in Cuyahoga Falls and Stow, Ohio. We will provide on-the-job training and technical instruction, consisting of, detailed assembly procedures using precision tools and machining operations while learning standard procedures to ensure the future viability and integrity of every machine we manufacture. Our goal is to develop factory-trained technicians to support our customer base with machine installations, emergency service, troubleshooting and regular/routine maintenance.

Principal Activities and Key Responsibilities

Training for the apprenticeship will take place within several areas of the Organization, including machine and sub-assembly production areas, machining centers, stockrooms, and classroom instruction via our on-site Seamer Training University.
Work from assembly drawings, specifications and instructions to plan work in proper sequences.
Assemble sections of machines or various combinations thereof as indicated by customer specifications.
Perform assembly operations to exacting tolerances; work with various types of parts including rotating shafts, gear trains, mechanical structures, and sprockets.
Use measuring instruments to level and align work, detect and eliminate run-out, work to close tolerances with a demand for square, concentricity and parallelism.
Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions
Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues.
Learn to provide consultative assistance for area of expertise; act as a technical consultant to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
Perform routine and/or emergency breakdown mechanical/electrical service on company equipment; determine root cause of trouble; prepare report of findings and solutions to problem.
Assist in the development of training materials for installations and troubleshooting.
Work from assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, technical procedures and specifications to assist with or install new machines and upgrade as required; responsible for installations of various sections and complete machines and adjustments as necessary to ensure proper operation.
Set up and operate machinery to produce customer’s product; instruct operators in set-up and operating procedures; provide technical and practical answers to customer’s questions or problems.
Regular aptitude testing to measure skills and competencies.
