Position Summary:

Accountable for the mechanical maintenance necessary to meet production, quality and cost objectives with minimal delays.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Prioritize safety of all employees by adhering to all safe work practices and ensuring that all tools, equipment, and work spaces are in safe operating condition.
•  Plan and implement preventative and predictive maintenance activities. Effectively communicate what has been accomplished and what needs to be accomplished to ensure efficient continuity of operations.
• Plan and implement preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
• Effectively communicate maintenance activities to ensure efficient continuity of operations.
• Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
• Experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on heavy manufacturing and automated equipment.
• Proven experience repairing and maintaining hydraulics, pneumatics, rigging, welding, fabricator systems, overhead rail conveyor systems, gearboxes, mechanical power transmissions.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient use of a variety of hand tools, measuring tools, and equipment for cutting, welding and brazing to adequately fulfill your daily job duties.
• Continually provide information necessary to plan, schedule and coordinate
  maintenance/construction projects.
• Assist in developing specifications for construction projects.
• Participate in the development of long-range plans for equipment repairs and upgrades.
• Assure conformance to EPA regulations, particularly Bag House and Melt Shop.
  
• Manage continuous improvement and other special projects.
• Assure compliance with all company policies

Qualifications:

• In-depth mechanical maintenance experience, typically acquired through a trade school, higher education, or work experience.
• In-depth understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Solid communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills: ability to relate to all types of people; demonstrated trust and integrity.
• Troubleshooting and organizational skills.

Previous experience that is necessary background to qualify for this position:
 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
 Millwright card or equivalent certificate required
